Anxiety can wreak havoc on our lives. I know! I’ve struggled with Generalized Anxiety Disorder/OCD and additionally, ADHD myself.


After having my son, my anxiety reached new levels I didn’t realize were possible. This often comes out as irritability. I am snappy with those I love and have a hard time being the mom or partner I want to be.


My son has had struggles throughout the last 8 years and I learned a really amazing parenting style that is peaceful and conscious parenting. This approach starts with the idea that I need to regulate myself FIRST. My son is learning from me. So it’s been important to prioritize my own well being. The only way to regulate myself is to be in a state that is capable of that. Anxiety drives me to be the least compassionate, empathetic or patient mom there can be.


Well, a lot of amazing things started to come together for me within a few years time. I started receiving psychotherapy which helped me tremendously and when I started in massage therapy school I started receiving massage therapy A LOT. This combination turned out to be really amazing for me. Therapy was so helpful to learn many different skills and massage therapy seemed to help me get out of head and into my body. The way I feel after a massage is kinder, more relaxed, ready to take on my day and be the mom I want to be.

Since becoming a massage therapist I knew that helping anxious moms was what I wanted to do.

Anxiety can still be a challenge for me at times but I am managing so much better.

Continuing education in Bodywork for PTSD further helped me to further understand how massage can help with a nervous system that is overly activated.

This program was designed for highly stressed and anxious moms (not diagnosed) or moms with any type of anxiety disorder that are looking for a holistic way to relieve symptoms of anxiety.  It was created based off of a study that was done measuring the results of 6 weeks of massage therapy for anxiety. During the study, participants received a Swedish massage 2x a week for 45 minutes each for 6 weeks. The results showed a significant reduction in anxiety on the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scales.

This program includes:

-A free consultation to determine if the program is a right fit for you and to customize the program for your needs

-An evaluation created by Jenny Alzate, Licensed Professional Counselor and myself, Eileen Dickinson, Licensed massage therapist to help measure your results as we go and to best customize the program for your individual needs

-Massage therapy that will aid in relieving stress and anxiety

- Visualization/breathing/relaxation support to help regulate the nervous system

-Optional medicinal grade essential oils especially chosen for anxiety relief 

- Homework- relaxation, breathing and potentially stretches in between sessions

- A massage therapy lesson with a supportive loved one to ensure you continue to receive these benefits at home and to strengthen your relationship with your loved one.


This program has two options:

  • Meet twice a week for 45 minutes ( just like the study) or

  • Once a week for 90 minutes, for convenience.
